We had a nice quiet Christmas at home this year. We stuck close to home and enjoyed making magic for Isabella.
They have beautiful Christmas trees brought in from Northern Italy and Germany. We had a ball picking one out at a lot but lost perspective for how big it was and had to cut it down a couple of feet to fit it in our house!
After picking out a tree we went to Carney Park for the US military sponsored Christmas event. Santa arrived on a fire engine and there were crafts and entertainment for the kids. Outside they even had an equestrian show. Isabella was nervous but very serious when she told Santa what she wanted for Christmas.
We took Isabella to the Navy Exchange (our store on base) for "Shopping with Santa". They had helpers and nobody over 10 years old was allowed in the store while the kids shopped for Christmas gifts. It was very well done and they even helped them wrap their presents and doctored the receipt so we couldn't tell what was purchased. Of course Isabella thinks that a secret is kept as long as it is whispered so we quickly but quietly found out what was in the packages. She picked out a tie for her teacher. I suggested that MS. Brown might like something else but she was confident in her choice. Turns out is was a very nice pastel pink tie that along with a nice frame and chocolates that we picked out later made a very nice gift.
Isabella's Christmas program at school was a highlight for us. She sung "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" with her class of 3 year olds. Got the camcorder out for that one!
